The Christmas Feast of Rungis.
Date:

Hand drawn sketches + digital coloring.
As part of a design competition for the Christmas decorations of the Rungis International Market – the world’s largest wholesale market for fresh produce – I had the pleasure of joining a collective composed of floral designer Anthony Denis, architect Sylvain Marceau, and myself to design a project entitled “The Feast of Rungis.”
Our concept revolved around a large mural celebrating the festive spirit and abundance that define Rungis during the holiday season. The market’s signature products were transformed into a vibrant banquet scene at the foot of snow-covered mountains, where trucks and animals joyfully marked the passage from one year to the next — a lively metaphor for the energy and continuity of Rungis.
Composed of five panels, “The Feast of Rungis” offered both a panoramic and narrative reading, with each scene standing on its own while forming part of a greater whole — a poetic and popular tribute to this exceptional place.
Although the project was not ultimately selected, the collaboration was a rich creative experience, built on shared ideas and a common visual language.
